On October 14, 2001, Ruckus announced the launch of the virtual controller Ruckus Unleashed AP. Unleashed AP is based on the new virtual controller Wi-Fi architecture, which can reduce the cost of ownership and provide up to 50% performance improvement for small enterprise environments.
Unleashed AP can meet the requirements of small enterprises for wireless office environment, which reduces the investment of enterprises in Wi-Fi. Enterprises can deploy existing devices without the need for separate controllers and access point licenses. Unleashed AP deployment is simple and convenient, without the need for professional personnel to carry out complex configuration, just using mobile phones or Pad and other wireless terminals, network deployment can be completed in a short period of 60 seconds.
The access points of AP virtual controller adopt intelligent Wi-Fi technology of Youke wireless, including BeamFlex adaptive antenna technology, ChannelFly capacity-based adaptive channel selection, Zero-IT Activation automatic user equipment configuration, and dynamic PSK Wi-Fi security.
In addition, Ruckus AP virtual controller has built-in controller functions similar to Ruckus Zone Director controller software, including user access control, thermostatic element visitor network functions, advanced Wi-Fi security and traffic management. Ruckus AP virtual controller can support up to 25 access points, which are part of a single site network. As business expands to multiple sites, Ruckus provides a simple path to migrate to controller-based Wi-Fi and can use existing Wi-Fi access points.
